This Best Practices Report intends to bring our experience in European Industrial Doctorates (EID) to other consortia with awarded EID Programmes ongoing and to institutions considering applying for funding to this scheme.

The Orchid Community offers a database of individuals for the identification of potential partners. It is also a forum for the discussion of topics of common interest, from early stage Drug Discovery to Clinical Development and epidemiological issues.
The forum accepts job postings, technology demands, partnership offers etc. and covers, but is not limited to, Malaria, Tuberculosis, Leishmaniasis, Trypanosomiasis and Chagas Disease.
In a context defined by numerous, but fractured, initiatives to fight Neglected Diseases, a forum promoting their interconnection in the best of scientific spirits could make an important contribution towards true "Open Source" research, and help achieve the critical mass necessary to make an effective impact on global health.
